Bergvall seeks Tottenham exit during World Cup

Bergvall, 20, made his request known while on World Cup duty with Sweden. He joined Spurs from Djurgarden in January 2024 on a contract until June 2031 but started just one of De Zerbi's six games in charge, appearing mainly as a substitute.

Barcelona held talks with Bergvall before his move to north London, but he chose Tottenham despite the Catalan club's interest expressed through Deco.

Spurs are active in recruitment, with an £80m bid for Newcastle's Sandro Tonali rejected on Saturday as De Zerbi seeks midfield reinforcements.

Bergvall's departure could affect Spurs' depth in midfield, particularly as the club aims to strengthen under new management following last season's narrow Premier League survival.
