Ghana Vice President Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang visited the Black Stars squad in Toronto on 16 June ahead of their World Cup Group L opener against Panama. She conveyed President John Dramani Mahama's support and addressed the squad, including Captain Jordan Ayew, and Coach Carlos Queiroz.

'The entire nation is behind you. You carry the hopes of 30 million Ghanaians. Go out there and make Ghana proud,' the Vice President told the players. She emphasized the importance of discipline and determination as Ghana prepares to play at BMO Field, stating: 'Tomorrow, when you walk onto that pitch, remember that you are not alone. You play for Mother Ghana.'

The official delegation also included Ghana's Chief Justice Baffie Bonnie and High Commissioner to Canada Dora Francisca Edu-Buandoh. Ghana opens its World Cup campaign against Panama on 17 June at 7:00 p.m. ET in Group L.
