Iran Wins Visa Appeals for Four Staff; 11 Delegation Members Remain Banned from USA

Iran's World Cup delegation achieved a partial victory in visa appeals, with four of fifteen initially rejected applicants winning approval to enter the United States. The successful appellants include a team technical analyst and two federation officials from the international department, now cleared to travel for Iran's group-stage matches.

However, eleven delegation members remain unable to travel to the United States despite resubmission efforts. The rejected group includes FFIRI (Iran Football Federation) president Mehdi Taj, a federation vice-president, two team administrators responsible for day-to-day operations, a media officer, and a security officer. One additional media officer chose not to reapply.

Iran had moved its World Cup base to Mexico due to geopolitical concerns. The team faces matches in Los Angeles on June 15 (vs. New Zealand) and June 21 (vs. Belgium), followed by Seattle on June 26 (vs. Egypt). The absence of federation leadership and administrative staff may constrain operational capacity at US venues.

Reduced delegation depth affecting team medical support and administrative operations during matches in the United States could impact Iran's preparation and performance in group-stage fixtures critical to advancement.
