Liverpool have signed Spain international winger Victor Munoz from Osasuna after triggering his €40m (£34.5m) release clause. The 22-year-old is part of Spain's World Cup squad and will sign a six-year deal at Anfield. Munoz becomes the Reds' first signing since Andoni Iraola replaced Arne Slot as head coach earlier this month, with the transfer fee payable in two instalments.
Simultaneously, Liverpool have offered approximately €100m (£86m) to RB Leipzig for Ivory Coast winger Yan Diomande, 19, who is currently competing in the World Cup tournament. Diomande scored 12 goals and provided eight assists in 28 Bundesliga appearances last season. Leipzig have rejected the offer and indicated they would only sell for more than €130m (£112m), particularly if Diomande's World Cup performance elevates his market value.
Paris Saint-Germain are also monitoring Diomande but have not submitted a formal bid to Leipzig. Newcastle United were previously in advanced negotiations for Munoz before Liverpool secured the winger. Munoz is a Barcelona La Masia academy graduate and former Real Madrid trainee.
