Morocco defender Noor Mazrawi revealed he is considering retirement from professional football after the 2026 World Cup to pursue Islamic education and religious vocation. "I may decide to retire after the World Cup. Life is short. I want to memorize the Quran and one day become an imam in a mosque," he stated.
The 28-year-old Manchester United defender made 20 league appearances this season without scoring. He joined United in 2024 and is contracted through the tournament period.
Morocco currently occupies Group C with four points from two matches. Their next fixture is against Haiti. Mazrawi's statement comes amid the team's solid group-stage performance so far.
