Neves: Portugal won't be broken by DR Congo draw, will improve

Portugal midfielder João Neves expressed confidence in his team's ability to improve after their 1-1 draw with DR Congo in the World Cup Group K opener. Despite the unexpected result, Neves emphasized belief in their performance.

"The most important thing is how we played. I'm truly convinced in what we showed," Neves said. "This draw won't break us. On the contrary – it will make us stronger."

Neves, named Player of the Match, credited Cristiano Ronaldo for his contribution despite the forward's goalless run. "Cristiano did what he's done for our national team. He played very well, and the whole team played an excellent match," Neves added.

Portugal faces Uzbekistan in Group K's second match on June 23, seeking to secure three points.
