Paraguay completed Wednesday training preparations in San José for Friday's Group D encounter with Turkey, their second 2026 World Cup match. Manager Gustavo Alfaro's squad worked through gym activation, recreational drills, passing circuits and tactical training ahead of the critical fixture.

Midfielder Andrés Cubas expressed renewed confidence: 'The group is well, we are confident and want to reverse this. We know it depends on us.' Addressing supporters, Cubas added: 'Thank you to the Paraguayan public for the support. We're going to try to give our best and change the face of what we did in the previous match.'

Striker Isidro Pitta underscored the match's significance: 'What we saw against USA is not the Paraguay we all know. We worked well these days, talked among ourselves and turned the page. This match is not three points, it's a final for us and we're going to face it that way.'

Paraguay faces Turkey on June 20 in a must-win Group D encounter to revive their World Cup campaign after their opening defeat to USA.
