Ghana coach Carlos Queiroz credited tactical adjustments for his team's 1-0 World Cup victory over Panama at BMO Field. Queiroz described World Cup wins as 'very expensive' and explained how Ghana frustrated Panama's fast, vertical approach through step-by-step in-game changes. 'We invited them to come, start to frustrate them, start to control all the solutions that they have when they go forward. Step by step, with the adjustments that we did during the game, I think we start to control the game,' Queiroz said.

The Portuguese coach backed 21-year-old midfielder Caleb Yirenkyi, who scored the winning goal on his World Cup debut, as a future midfield star for Ghana. Queiroz also criticized VAR for missing a penalty appeal against defender Jerome Opoku during the match, calling for the system to improve.

With Ghana's victory marking their first men's World Cup win in 28 years, Queiroz expressed confidence ahead of the team's next group-stage fixture against England. 'We are growing up as a team. We are playing a different system,' he said.
