Scotland prefer underdog role against Morocco, says manager Clarke

Scotland manager Steve Clarke believes his team may perform better as underdogs against Morocco in their Group A match on Friday. After finding it difficult to play as favorites against Haiti in their 1-0 opening win, Clarke said: "Sometimes the Scottish mentality is that we're a little more comfortable when we're the underdogs."

Clarke acknowledged Morocco's strength, noting they reached the 2022 World Cup semi-finals and describing the current squad as "every bit as good, if not better." He said: "Any time you play a team that's inside the world's top 10, you know you're going to have to be good in what you do both without the ball and with the ball."

Despite the challenge ahead, Clarke expressed confidence in his team's ability to compete. "We're under no illusion about the size of the task, but I feel Morocco are a really good side and this is a big challenge for us," Clarke said.
