Ghana forward Antoine Semenyo reflected on the team's opening 1-0 victory over Panama on Wednesday, June 17, emphasizing defensive organization as the foundation for success. 'Everyone's going crazy in the changing room right now,' Semenyo told Ghana FA. 'We really wanted to win the game and we're happy we got the three points.'

Speaking on Panama's control of possession, Semenyo explained the team's tactical approach: 'Panama had a lot of moments where they dominated on the ball, and we just needed to stay in our shape and press at the right times. We stuck together well, didn't concede and like I said, it was a game about moments, we got our moment and we finished off.'

Semenyo credited his experience working under Pep Guardiola for shaping his understanding of the game, calling the former Manchester City manager 'one of the best managers in the world.' He added: 'I'm glad to say I've worked with him. He taught me a lot. I'm definitely going to be using that now and for the future.'

Ghana face England in their second Group L match on June 23.
