Two charged after $18,000 England World Cup equipment theft

Mustafa Salik and Erfan Kamal were charged with receiving stolen property (Class D felony under Missouri law) after England's World Cup equipment was stolen from a vehicle traveling from Florida to Kansas City. Items taken included four pairs of football boots ($1,340.60), goalkeeper gloves ($160.87), training kits, and three signed jerseys valued at $15,000 total.

The theft occurred as the vehicle transported equipment from England's pre-tournament base in Florida to Kansas City. The Football Association confirmed the majority of stolen items have been recovered.

The FA stated nothing taken would impact England's preparations for their World Cup opener against Croatia on June 18. Each defendant faces one to seven years in prison if convicted of the felony charge.
