Vinicius Junior spoke to Gazzetta dello Sport about his tactical relationship with Carlo Ancelotti: "I feel great freedom and sincere trust from Ancelotti: he is sure I can do for the national team what I do for Real Madrid. I believe him, and I want to write the history of the country; we must do everything to win."

Ancelotti brings first World Cup experience as a head coach to Brazil's technical staff, though the 64-year-old served as assistant to Arrigo Sacchi with Italy in 1994. The Italian has won major club trophies throughout his career, bringing championship experience to Brazil's pursuit of a sixth World Cup title.

Vinicius outlined Brazil's tactical approach under Ancelotti: "I am sure we will do well: we are solid in defence and ready to counter-attack, just as Ancelotti asks of us. He has brought all his vast experience and impressive collection of titles with him to our national team." Vinicius has one year remaining on his Real Madrid contract and deferred discussion of his club future until after the tournament.

Brazil face Morocco at 0:00 CET on Sunday, June 14, in their World Cup opener.
