Caleb Yirenkyi broke the deadlock with a composed finish from inside the box, securing Ghana's crucial 1-0 victory over Panama. The goal resulted from Ghana's practiced attacking pattern of moving the ball to the wings and delivering crosses for centre-forward runs.

"We won the ball back. I just tried to play forward and run forward. I got the ball in the box and finished," Yirenkyi explained. "That's what we've been practicing — get the ball to the wings and put it in the box. Then we make runs, get people in the box to finish."

Ghana showed resilience under Coach Carlos Queiroz despite the absence of midfielder Thomas Partey and a halftime goalkeeping change. Yirenkyi credited the coaching and support staff, including the nutritionist, for their preparation work.

Yirenkyi acknowledged his excitement but emphasized collective focus: "The feeling is great but I stay humble. I want to do more for the team and the country."
