Former Zenit player Vladislav Radimov hailed the selection as a success not only for the Russian club but for the entire RPL, describing it as an unexpected development.
Radimov stated he had not anticipated Santos would start in Brazil's opening match, noting the left-back had limited opportunities for first-team football prior to the World Cup.
