AC Milan confirm squad plans: Jashari retained, Fofana and Bondo to leave

AC Milan have held meetings with player representatives to clarify their squad restructuring under new head coach Ruben Amorim. Switzerland international Ardon Jashari has been assured he remains central to the project despite interest from Atalanta. Midfielder Youssouf Fofana and Warren Bondo, who underperformed on loan at Cremonese last season, have been informed they should seek moves elsewhere.

Fofana, signed from AS Monaco for €26 million in 2024, made 33 Serie A appearances but failed to convince Milan's hierarchy. Young striker Francesco Camarda and academy prospect Christian Comotto have been encouraged to sign contract extensions, with both deals running until 2028 offering new terms.

Milan's restructuring accelerates following Max Allegri's dismissal and the club's exclusion from the Champions League.

Ruben Amorim, a 41‑year‑old Portuguese midfielder, is currently the head coach of FC Porto. He coached Braga from 2020 to 2022. He has worked with Portugal’s U21 side and as an assistant for the senior national team.
