Napoli's pursuit of Massimiliano Allegri has stalled after exactly 30 days of negotiations with AC Milan over his severance package, creating significant tension between the clubs.

Two scenarios now exist: either Allegri's agent and Milan reach a financial settlement covering the coach and his staff, or Allegri resigns and files a damages claim before sporting courts.

Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis does not want the situation to extend beyond this week. Allegri is currently on holiday in Sardinia. Two members of his staff—Claudio Filippi (joining Fiorentina) and Bernardo Corradi (becoming Sampdoria coach)—have already resolved their futures independently.
