Liverpool defender Amara Nallo is set to join Finnish club HJK Helsinki on a season-long loan. The teenage centre-back will have the opportunity to play regular first-team football.
The 19-year-old centre-back was left out of Liverpool’s pre-season tour of the United States as he was finalising the temporary move. Nallo’s senior career has been marked by two red cards in his first three appearances — sent off four minutes into his debut against PSV Eindhoven in the Champions League in January 2025, and again on his next senior outing against Crystal Palace in the Carabao Cup nine months later. His only other first-team appearance came against Qarabag in the Champions League in January 2026.
Liverpool believe regular senior football will boost Nallo’s development after that difficult introduction. HJK, based in Helsinki, are Finland’s most successful club with a record 33 top-flight titles. Nallo, who captained Liverpool’s Under-21s last season, joined the club from West Ham United in 2023.
