Belgium manager Rudi Garcia defended his team's performance and backed them to prove the 'has-beens' tag wrong as they prepare to face Senegal in the round of 16. Garcia was irked by a La Libre article that compared Kevin De Bruyne to a washed-up Hollywood actor after a flat display against Iran.
"When a nation has players of that calibre, you support them," Garcia said, praising the performances of his 'four leaders' in De Bruyne, Romelu Lukaku, Thibaut Courtois, and Leandro Trossard, who scored twice against New Zealand.
Belgium secured top spot in Group G with a 5-1 win over New Zealand, and Garcia is confident his team can build on this momentum against Senegal.
