Bournemouth announced on Tuesday that midfielder Alex Scott has rejected a new contract, despite the club’s intention to secure his services this summer. The 22‑year‑old, who has two years remaining on his current deal, is linked with interest from several Premier League sides.
Scott, an England Under‑21 international, was selected for his first senior England training camp last November and later called into Thomas Tuchel’s extended pre‑World Cup camp in Florida, although he has yet to make a senior appearance.
Since joining Bournemouth from Bristol City in 2023 for £25 million, Scott has made 89 appearances and scored six goals for the Cherries. He previously made 91 appearances for his former Championship club and was named the division’s Young Player of the Season for 2022‑23.
The club confirmed that negotiations have not produced an agreement, leaving his future uncertain as Bournemouth aim to build on their sixth‑place finish in the 2025‑26 season, which secured a historic Europa League qualification.
