Dirk Kuyt, the Dutch legend, has officially rejoined Fenerbahçe as first-team assistant coach alongside manager Ismail Kartal. The appointment signals the club's investment in preparation for an ambitious 2026–27 season marking Fenerbahçe's 120th anniversary.
Fenerbahçe's official statement said: "Dirk Kuyt, who played a crucial role in our championship and won the love of our fans with his dedication, has come home. Some connections are never truly severed."
Kuyt, 37, became one of Fenerbahçe's most beloved players during his 2012–2014 spell, helping the Istanbul club win the Super Lig title in 2013—their first league championship in 15 years. He retired from professional football in 2018 after stints across Europe.
Kuyt brings substantial experience having played for Feyenoord, Liverpool, Galatasaray, and Fenerbahçe during his career, combining technical knowledge with the institutional knowledge of Turkish football.
