Enzo Maresca Confirmed as Manchester City Head Coach, Pays Chelsea Compensation

Enzo Maresca has been confirmed as Manchester City's new head coach, taking over from Pep Guardiola after his decade-long tenure. Maresca has signed a three-year deal with the club.

The appointment was finalized after discussions between Chelsea and Manchester City regarding a compensation package. Maresca will personally pay compensation to Chelsea for his resignation in January, which he admitted 'opened a path' for his move to City.

Manchester City is also reportedly paying Chelsea an estimated £17m as part of the agreement. Maresca, who previously served as Guardiola's assistant during City's treble-winning 2022-23 season, has apologized for the disruption caused by his mid-season departure from Stamford Bridge.
