Aston Villa have reportedly turned their attention to Manchester United forward Alejandro Garnacho following the rejection of a bid for Ollie Watkins. The Blues are looking to bolster their squad ahead of the new season, with United having previously approached Villa regarding Watkins only to be told the England international is not for sale.
United are attempting to raise funds to reinvest in the squad, with fringe players such as Antony, Jadon Sancho, and Garnacho earmarked for exits. The Red Devils are reportedly ready to accept £40 million for Garnacho, who has a preference to remain in the Premier League this summer.
Villa are known to be interested in the Argentina international, although there are no suggestions of a swap deal at this stage. Chelsea also hold long-standing interest in Garnacho, but their stance is that they value Nicolas Jackson at £80 million and are unwilling to pay more than £30 million for the winger. United are holding a firm line on valuations to maximise sales amid PSR pressures.
United's approach for Watkins was firmly knocked back by Villa, who value the 29-year-old at approximately £60 million. The club are also looking to secure a goalkeeper, with Leipzig reportedly asking €80 million for their shot-stopper.
