Inter Milan has shifted its right-back recruitment strategy after two major setbacks. Chelsea secured Marco Palestra from Atalanta for in excess of €60m, while Real Madrid activated Denzel Dumfries' €20m release clause, eliminating Inter's primary targets for summer improvement.

Roma's Wesley and Fluminense's Guga have been offered to the Nerazzurri as potential solutions. Guga, 27, holds a Portuguese passport and would not count toward Inter's non-EU registration quota. Roma, however, may resist selling Wesley despite requiring significant funds by June 30 to meet financial fair play compliance.

Other options under evaluation include Juventus's Andrea Cambiaso, Nottingham Forest's Dan Ndoye, and Fiorentina's Dodo, each valued around €40m. Inter retains approximately €70m from the combination of Dumfries' sale proceeds (€20m) and Palestra's original budget allocation (€50m), with potential for additional funds through other player sales.
