Kepa requests Arsenal exit; four replacements identified

Spanish goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga has requested a transfer from Arsenal, seeking regular first-team football after spending the 2025-26 season as backup to David Raya, who won the Premier League's Golden Glove award for the second consecutive year. Arsenal management understands the situation and are prepared to sell at the right price.

The 31-year-old Kepa joined Arsenal last summer from Chelsea for £5m but made only 12 competitive appearances. Arsenal have compiled a four-player shortlist of replacement options: Illan Meslier (free agent, formerly Leeds United), Yann Sommer (free agent, formerly Inter Milan and Switzerland), Matthew Ryan (Australian, former Arsenal player), and Stefan Ortega (German, with Premier League experience at Manchester City and Nottingham Forest).

Italian Serie A clubs Juventus and Napoli have already inquired about Kepa's availability. The goalkeeper has been linked with interest from teams seeking experienced depth in the goalkeeper position.
