Laporta criticizes Real Madrid after UEFA complaint in Negreira case

Barcelona President Joan Laporta has publicly condemned Real Madrid's actions after the club filed a complaint with UEFA concerning the Negreira case. Laporta stated, "They won't get away with this. We know UEFA's position on this matter. All of this is another tantrum on their part, an attempt to prolong this story as much as possible to justify actions that make no sense and will lead nowhere."

Laporta suggested that Real Madrid's complaint is a tactic to shift focus from their own issues. He added, "It was convenient for them to create all this noise to divert attention to other topics: their desire to transform the club into a public limited company and matters that are not going well for them. For example, that there will be no musical events at the stadium or that they still don't know where to organize parking."

The Negreira case, which emerged in 2023, involves allegations that Barcelona made payments to José María Enríquez Negreira, a former vice-president of Spain's refereeing committee, between 2001 and 2018.

Jude Bellingham joined Real Madrid from Borussia Dortmund in 2023 at age 21. He is an England midfielder.
