Marcus Rashford is poised to be reintegrated into the Manchester United squad under manager Michael Carrick. The 28-year-old forward, who has two years remaining on his contract, has not featured for the club since December 2024.
Rashford spent the 2025-26 season on loan at Barcelona, where he helped the club secure the La Liga title. Despite his preference to remain in Spain, Barcelona opted to sign Anthony Gordon, and United have no plans to facilitate another temporary move.
The forward will receive a three-week break following England's exit from the World Cup before reporting for pre-season training. While United previously sought to offload his £17.5m annual salary, a lack of suitable suitors has made his return to the squad the current plan.
