McCrorie returns to Rangers citing manager McInnes as key factor

Ross McCrorie, a 28-year-old Scotland international, rejoined Rangers having left for Aberdeen in 2020 and subsequently moved to Bristol City in 2023. Although Bristol City triggered a contract extension, McCrorie chose Rangers because of manager Derek McInnes.

McCrorie stated: "The biggest thing for me was the gaffer. I had a good few offers in England but as soon as the gaffer got the job here I knew he was the man to take this club forward. The gaffer was the one who gave me that belief to step up and leave Rangers."

Under McInnes at Aberdeen, McCrorie played 115 appearances across multiple positions before departing for England. The pair's established relationship and McInnes' reputation as a proven manager influenced McCrorie's decision to return to Ibrox despite competing offers.

Manager appointments can significantly shift club competitiveness odds; Rangers' domestic cup and league winner markets may adjust based on squad composition changes and McInnes' track record with returning players.
