Trump hails World Cup 2026 record viewership and attendance

US President Donald Trump praised the 2026 FIFA World Cup for achieving record-breaking viewership and attendance figures. "America is proudly hosting the World Cup 2026, and it's setting records for attendance, television records that were never seen before," Trump stated, noting the unprecedented interest across the three co-host nations.

Comparing the tournament's success to the Super Bowl, Trump remarked: "It's like the Super Bowl every day," highlighting consistent high engagement throughout the group stage.

Trump also congratulated FIFA President Gianni Infantino on the tournament's organization and performance. "I want to congratulate my friend President Gianni Infantino. He is very happy, constantly breaking records," Trump said, emphasizing the tournament's commercial and viewership success.

The World Cup 2026 kicked off June 11 across 16 cities in the USA, Mexico, and Canada, with 48 national teams competing through July 19.
