The US Department of Homeland Security granted Iran's national football team two-day early arrival for their June 27 World Cup match against Egypt at Lumen Field in Seattle, relaxing earlier day-before-match restrictions.
Iran must still depart the United States on the day of the match. "For Iran's participation in their third match in Seattle, the team was permitted to enter the US two days before the match. The Iran team must still leave the country on the day the match concludes. Overall security measures and protocols remain the same," a DHS representative told The Telegraph.
The eased entry timeline allows Iran additional time for preparation and acclimatization after long-distance travel, addressing prior constraints on pre-match logistics.
