The Paraguayan Football Association (APF) is set to expand the use of Video Assistant Referee (VAR) technology in its Intermedia Division, the second-highest tier of Paraguayan football. This initiative is part of an ongoing effort to strengthen, modernize, and professionalize the competitions.
The APF confirmed that six matches in the upcoming 13th round of the Intermedia Division championship will be played with VAR assistance. This measure aligns with Article 132 of the APF's General Competition Regulations, which allows for VAR implementation in divisions outside the División de Honor, provided operational and regulatory conditions are met.
