Yilmaz vows attacking effort for Turkey's final group match vs USA

Kenan Yilmaz addressed Turkey's disappointing group stage campaign ahead of Friday's match against the USA in Los Angeles. The midfielder acknowledged Turkey's failure to meet expectations, saying: 'We had high expectations—our entire country supported us and believed we would achieve great success. I want to apologize to the fans who came to watch our matches and support us. I know it is disappointing.'

Turkey were eliminated from contention after losing to Australia 0-2 and Paraguay 0-1 in their opening two group matches. Despite the early exit, Yilmaz pledged effort in the final match: 'In the last match we will try with all our might to attack. I'm confident we will score in the final game.'

The match is scheduled for June 26 in Los Angeles. USA have secured top spot in their group with two wins and a 6-1 goal difference.
