Inter Milan have begun direct negotiations with Anan Khalaili's representatives and are preparing a €25 million offer to Union Saint-Gilloise for the 21-year-old Israeli right-back, escalating competition with Napoli for his signature. Napoli had held preliminary discussions but failed to reach agreement.
Khalaili, acquired by Union SG from Maccabi Haifa for €6.5 million, has delivered eight goals and eleven assists in 99 competitive appearances. The versatile defender can play right-back or advance into wider midfield roles, suiting Inter's 3-5-2 formation under coach Cristian Chivu.
Inter's pursuit follows Real Madrid's capture of Netherlands defender Denzel Dumfries, valued around €20 million via release clause, leaving gaps on Milan's right flank.
Intensified Serie A competition between top clubs for the same position will likely inflate asking prices and Khalaili's valuation beyond Inter's initial €25m bid.
