Paz permanently rejoins Como from Real Madrid for €60m fee

Nico Paz has completed his permanent return to Como from Real Madrid for a club-record €60m fee. The 21-year-old Argentina international had spent two seasons at the Italian club on loan, impressing significantly under Cesc Fabregas' management. Real Madrid held the right to either sell or recall him, but opted for a permanent deal instead.

Real Madrid initially acquired Paz for €6m and held a buyback clause valued at €9m. Rather than activating the buyback, the Spanish club negotiated a new permanent transfer with Como. The agreement includes a new €80m buyback clause for Real Madrid, with the previous 50% sell-on clause removed from the contract terms.

Paz's €60m sale ranks as the fifth-largest in Real Madrid's history, behind only Cristiano Ronaldo (€117m), Ángel Di María (€75m), Casemiro (€70.7m), and Álvaro Morata (€62m combined fee). The transfer demonstrates Real Madrid's strategy in monetizing academy talent while maintaining long-term control through buyback options.
