AC Milan have announced the appointment of 26-year-old Sergio Navarro Barquero as head coach of Milan Futuro for the 2026-27 season. He succeeds Massimo Oddo, who left the role on June 30.
Navarro is a former left-back who played in the lower Spanish divisions after coming through Villarreal's academy. His coaching career has included roles at Castellón's youth sides, Rubin Kazan (assistant), Karpaty Lviv, Levante, Athletic Bilbao (assistant) and most recently Debrecen in the Hungarian top flight.
"Appointing Sergio represents the ideal blend of qualities we were looking for: a Coach who already understands the demands of professional football and who, above all, has focused on developing young talent in one of Europe's leading football environments," said Milan's sport development director Jovan Kirovski.
Milan Futuro are on their third head coach since the reserve side's formation at the start of the 2024-25 season, following Daniele Bonera and Massimo Oddo.
